Choose to be Preserved

Daily Reading Proverbs 2

Verses 10 and 11 speak of preserving your soul. To preserve means to maintain (something) in its original or existing state. These verses say we can be preserved if we embrace wisdom in our heart and find pleasure in knowledge then discretion (the quality of being wise, judicious, and prudent in choice and use) and understanding will keep (preserve) us. But when we reject wisdom and don’t find pleasure in knowledge verse 22 says we risk being cut off from the earth. The meek were promised to inherit the earth according to Matthew 5:5. Choosing to reject wisdom and understanding can have a negative trickle-down effect on others promises given to us as Believers. So, choose this day to be preserved.
